Jimmie “Jim” Wade Parnell, 65, of Jackson died Feb. 14, 2013 at his residence.
He was born April 14, 1947. He was a member of Tompkins Baptist Church. He was a millwright with Boise Cascade Paper Mill. His hobbies were his grandchildren, Nascar, hunting and fishing and he was an avid Alabama football fan.
Survivors include his wife, Margie Parnell, Jackson; one son, Andy “Bud” (Amy) Parnell, Jackson; one daughter, Shea Hutto, Jackson; two brothers, Harry (Doris) Parnell, Semmes, Jerry (Teresa) Parnell, Grand Bay; three grandchildren, Brylon Goodman, Madison Parnell and Zoe Hutto; sister-in-laws, Merlene (Jerry) DuBose, Jayne (Fred) Cross and Missy (Ken) Lott; one brother-in-law, Ben Richardson; numerous nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry W. and Valeria Parnell, a sister, Margaret Barrett and a brother-in-law, Rusty Sanders.
Visitation will be Friday, Feb. 15 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Lathan Funeral Home in Jackson. The service will be Saturday, Feb. 16 at 3 p.m. at Tompkins Baptist Church with Rev. Johnny Kendrick officiating. Burial will be in Trinity Memorial Gardens.
Active pallbearers will be Ward Edge, Jack Robinson, Terry Horton, Craig Cross IV, Gordon Sanders and Will Lott.
Honorary pallbearers will be men of Tompkins Baptist Church and the Bleach Plant Maintenance Workers.
