Mary Alma Garrison Allen, 93, of Dickinson died March 6, 2013 at her residence.
She was born Oct. 28, 1919 in Yantley, Ala. She was a retired school teacher from Choctaw County High School. She had worked in Washington, D.C. during World War II as a cryptographic specialist. She was a former member of the Concord Baptist Church where she was always working and involved in numerous activities. After she moved to Dickinson she became a member of the First Baptist Church of Fulton.
Survivors include two sons, Gaines Earl Allen, Satsuma, Donald Herman Allen, Dickinson; one daughter, Mary Edna Allen, Nashville, Tenn.; one sister, Ruth Littlepage, Mt. Sterling; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Gaines Allen.
The service was March 9 at 2 p.m. at O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Bedsole officiating. Burial was in the Concord Cemetery in Yantley.
Active pallbearers were Gabe Allen, Jonathan Allen, Jacob Allen, Jake Paul, Shannon Strunk and David Stejskal.
