Charles Wesley Hasty, 93, of Thomasville died March 5, 2013 at Marengo Nursing Home.
He was born Dec. 26, 1919 in Surginer. He was a member of the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church. He was a World War II United States Army Veteran. He was a retired logger and farmer.
Survivors include two sons, James Wesley (Mary Olive) Hasty, Linden, Charles Howard “Buddy” (Jan Carol) Hasty, Gallion; one daughter, Judy Kaye Hasty (T.J.) Kirkham, Thomasville; two sisters, Polly Hill, Chattanooga, TN, Margaret Pope, Dixons Mills; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes Inez Raybon Hasty; a son, Bobby Franklin Hasty; three brothers, Cecil Hasty, William Claudy “Dub” Hasty, Maxwell “Bud” Hasty; two sisters, Lois Morgan, Bonnie Pearl Foster.
The service was March 8 at 11 a.m. at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church with Revs. Daniel Gandy and Jonathon Collins officiating. Burial was in the Wesley Chapel United Methodist church Cemetery in Dixons Mills.
Active pallbearers were Darren Kirkham, Steve Kirkham, Jim Hasty, Dr. Alex Curtis, Jared Hasty and Jeffrey Hasty.
Honorary pallbearers were Ted Morgan, Cecil McIntyre, Raymond Vick, Lamar Stockman and Dock Harper Jr.
