Dolly Daniels Smitherman, 80, died March 9, 2013 at her residence.
She was born Feb. 27, 1933 in Birmingham. She was formerly a waitress and a nurse’s aide.
Survivors include two daughters, Cynthia Denise (John) Pezent, Jackson, B.J. Griffin, Mobile; seven siblings, Peggy (Johnny) Thomas, Joann (John) Watkins, Ruth Brown, all of Cullman, Lucky Bakes, Summerville, Betty Minton, Shannon, Louise (Fred) Marks, Jackson, David (Tina) Bates, Calera; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Clifford Daniels Sr., two sons, James C. Daniels Jr., John Curtis Daniels Sr. and one grandson, Joseph Lee Tolbert Sr.
Visitation will be Tuesday, March 12 from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Lathan Funeral Home in Jackson. A graveside service will follow at 11 a.m. at Trinity Memorial Gardens in Jackson with Rev. William Allison to officiate.
Active pallbearers will be Vince Marks, Eddie Pezent, Bradley Wade, Lamar Motes, Alfred Marks and Fred Marks.
