Joan Worthington White, 75, of Eight Mile died March 24, 2013 in Mobile.
She was born July 19, 1937. She was a native of Brewton. She was the co-owner of Azalea Paving Company in Eight Mile. She loved gardening, woodworking and any activity involving nature and wildlife. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister who will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her husband of 33 years, Wayne White; four daughters, Vicki Locklin (Clyde) Miller, Satsuma, Dr. Sherry Ann White, Pensacola, FL, Gina Locklin (Mark) Byrd, Eight Mile, Shlynn White (Bob) Curry, Huntsville; one brother, Eugene Worthington; two sisters, Doris Frazier, Nell Murphy, all of Brewton; five grandchildren, Drew Miller, Zac Miller, Dylan Byrd, Aaron Byrd and Libby White; numerous nephews, nieces and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wiley and Ruth Worthington; one sister, Naomi Lindsey and a brother James Worthington.
The service will be Wednesday, March 27 at 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. service at Lathan Funeral Home with Bro. William Allison officiating. Burial was in the Perry’s Chapel Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Drew Miller, Zac Miller, Dylan Byrd, Aaron Byrd, Sonny Williams and Chuck Dempsey.
Honorary pallbearers will be Joe White, Eugene Worthington, Likley Powe, Mark Byrd, Clyde Miller, and Bob Curry.
