He accepted Christ at an early age and united with Jordan Grove Baptist Church of Searight. While in school, he moved to Washington, DC and attended McKinley High School. He also attended the Washington High School ROTC Program and upon graduating in 1963, served honorably in the United States Air Force. Upon returning to Washington, he attended Stroyer College and received a BS Degree in Business Administration. He later obtained his Real Estate License and was a licensed locksmith.
He enjoyed various employments during his lifetime; real estate agent for Century 21, licensed cab driver for the city of Washington for 35 years, and as a supervisor of carpenters for the United States Civil Service, from which he retired after 15 years of employment due to failing health.
Brother White was a member and Past Master of Meridian Lodge #6, Washington, DC; a member of Buna Mae Chapter #342 OES of Searight, AL and a member of Jackson Masonic Lodge #139, and was a Shriner.
Upon moving to Jackson, he united with Saint Union Missionary Baptist Church where he was an instructor in the Baptist Training Union, was appointed a trustee, served in the missionary society (counselor for the Crusaders), and was instrumental in the Free Mission District Association youth department.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Anna Marie Jackson White, Jackson; his sons, Dwayne (Tasha) White, Waldorf, MD, Marlon (Michelle) Malone, Laurel, MD; his daughter, Sandra Lott, Pomdale, CA; one brother, Arthur (Clara) White, Washington, DC; one sister, Airlean White Nelson, Las Vegas, NV; two aunts, Maggie Bryant, Dozier, Floy Marie Bryant, Middleton, OH; one sister-in-law, Pat White, eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Charlie L. White, Clarence White, Imogean White McCraken, and Lorean White.
Viewing will be Friday, May 17, 4-7 p.m. at Andrews Funeral Home in Jackson; Jackson Masonic Lodge #139 will perform their ceremony at 6:30 p.m. Viewing Saturday will be at 12 noon until the funeral hour at 1 p.m. at Jordan Grove Baptist Church in Searight. Rev. Larry Burnett, pastor; Rev. James M. Howard, Sr., eulogist and pastor of Bro. White. Burial will follow in Lowman Cemetery in Searight.
