Thomas Earl Brown Sr., 64, died April 29, 2013.
He was born July 5, 1948 to Sadie May Oliver and Roosevelt Brown in Jackson.
He attended Harper High School in Jackson. He relocated to Detroit, Mich. and began a career as a security officer. Upon relocating to Mobile, he met and married his wife, Rhonda, and began a career with Exxon Mobil Oil Company, retiring in 2004. He was an avid Auburn Tiger and New Orleans Saints fan. The love of his life was “granddaddy’s little pooh bear,” his grandson Thomas.
Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Rhonda Brown, Mobile; two devoted children, Thomas “BoBo” (Alexis) Brown, Calera, Sukoji “Mookie” Brown, Mobile; one grandson, Thomas Ean Brown; one caring brother, Charles (Mary) Oliver, Mobile; two loving sisters, Dorothy (Frank) Howze, Marion (Larry) Campbell, both of Jackson; two aunts, Esther Lee Bernard, Conroe, Texas, Lorena Bettis, Jackson; one uncle, Dewey Johnson, Jackson; devoted nieces that he raised as his own children, Shalena Evans and LaShauna Ross; other devoted nieces, nephews, great-nieces, greatnephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, devoted aunt Mrs. Dora Hawkins and sister-in-law Ms. Laura Evans.
The service was May 5 at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church No. 2 in Jackson with Rev. Stevenson E. Tullis, pastor, and Minister Bronell Robinson officiating. Burial was in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Jackson.
Pallbearers were Mr. Brown’s nephews; flower bearers were his nieces.
Honorary pallbearers included Thomas Brown Jr., Thomas Ean Brown III, Larry Campbell Sr., Charles Oliver, Frank Howze, Alvin Jones and Billy Ray Rodgers.
Honorary Flower bearers were Rhonda Brown, Alexis Smith- Brown, Marion Campbell, Sukoji Brown, Dorothy Howze and Mary Oliver.
