She was born Feb. 18, 1942 in Suggsville to the late Nathaniel Bettis and Bessie Thomas. She was a homemaker. She was a life-long member of Cedar Fork Baptist Church of Suggsville. She was united in holy matrimony to Eddie Armstead on March 20, 1964.
Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Eddie Armstead Sr., Suggsville; eight sons, Jonathan Bettis, Houston, TX; Bobby (Marquita) Armstead, Eric (Quita-Jane) Armstead, Gregory Armstead, all of Suggsville; Clarence (Marenda) Armstead, Alma; Eddie (Adella) Armstead Jr., Thomasville; Mark (Belinda) Armstead, Jackson; Kent (Daylin) Armstead, Silverdale, WA; two daughters, Rena Armstead of Suggsville, Iris (Karl) Jackson, Allen; one sister, Violet Kidd, Mobile, and one brother, David Thomas, Suggsville.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Robert and Kenneth Armstead, and one brother, Timothy Bettis.
Viewing will be Saturday, June 1 at 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. service at Cedar Fork Baptist Church; Rev. Credell Bolden, pastor and eulogist. Burial will be in the Cedar Fork Baptist Church Cemetery.
