Tropical Storm Andrea not coming our way
Tropical Storm Andrea has formed in the Gulf of Mexico and is sporting winds of up to 60 mph. However, it isn't headed toward the Alabama coast but has a projected landfall on Florida's peninsula probably Thursday afternoon or evening. Residents there can expect heavy rain, gusty winds, rough surf and severe thunderstorms. The storm will then quickly head north up the East Coast of the U.S., maintaining tropical storm status as it goes.
Hurricane season officially started June 1 and continues through October. Forecasters are prediciting a busy season.
