Richard E. Cooke, 67, of Pine Hill died June 9, 2013 at his residence. He was often referred to as Hubcap” or “Cookie.”
He was born Feb. 15, 1946 in Union, Miss. He was a member of the County Line Baptist Church. He was a United States Air Force Veteran. He had worked as a truck driver.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy D. Cooke, Pine Hill; two daughters, Teresa (Walter) Jackson, Calhoun, Ga., Sherry Jo Cooke, Huntsville; three step-sons, Bo Price, Portazz, MI, Michael Price, Huntsville, Joseph Price, McCalla; stepdaughter, Shelia Abernathy, Moorehead, KY; 10 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Patrick Cooke and Dennis Cooke and a brother, David Cooke.
The service was June 12 at 2 p.m. at O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home with Revs. Jackson, and Edward Davis officiating. Burial was in the Choctaw Corner Cemetery in Thomasville.
Active pallbearers were Nicholas Jackson, Wayne Pearson, Phil Bradford, Red Watts. Jimmy Dement and Dylan Averitt.
Honorary pallbearers were Mike Rush, Bull Smith and William Westbrook.
