Michael Jerome “Mike” Sheffield, 57, of Chatom died June 20, 2013.

He was born April 14, 1956. He was a 1974 graduate of Washington County High School. He was the owner and operator of Sheffield’s Furniture Company. His hobbies include fishing, riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and his yellow “Tweety Bird” jeep. He was a very enthusiastic Alabama fan. He enjoyed cooking for his friends and family on his grill and smoker and spent much time at the family beach house in Gulf Shores.

Survivors include his brother, Jim (Bridget) Sheffield; a nephew, Stephen Michael Sheffield; a niece, Caty (Chris) Wilson; a great-nephew, Fuller Malone Wilson; uncles, Ray (Jane) Sheffield, Larry (Marie) Sheffield and Charles Hurd; aunts, Nell (Arnold) Smith, Clarice (Fred) Hoven; girlfriend, Jowanna Brown.

The service was June 23 at 3 p.m. at Chatom Baptist Church with Bro. Jerry Roberson officiating. Burial was in the Chatom Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were Randy Sheffield, Tony Sheffield, Dwight Dunn, Barry Hoven, Craig Hoven, Chad Sheffield, Gene Sheffield, Wayne Sessions, Eric Odom, Jon Odom, Blair Hurd and Jamie Hurd.

Honorary pallbearers were Perry Johnson, Sammy Woodard and Carmon Sims.
