Henry Johnson, 70, of Gosport died June 30, 2013 at Mobile Infirmary.
He was born June 29, 1943. He served as a deacon and Sunday school superintendent at Little Rock Baptist Church in Gosport. He was a member of Keep Time Lodge No. 270 in Whatley where he served as past worshiper master and chaplain.
Survivors include his wife, Annie Lou Johnson, Gosport; one son, Kendall (Nashanna) Madison, Birmingham; seven daughters, Betty (Robert) Thomas, Toledo, Ohio, Bobby (Regianald) Bonner, Christine (Larry) Fluker, Veola (Sam) Johnson, Viola (Bernard) Sims, all of Montgomery, Felicia (Frederick) Harris, Chimere Madison, both of Birmingham; five brothers, Arthur Lee (Josephine) Johnson, Whatley, Frank (Elaine) Johnson, Atlanta, Ga., Ranus (Synovia) Johnson, Isaac Johnson, Mobile, John Arbson (Hattie) Johnson, Gosport; four sisters, Lecester Johnson, Ruthell (James) Williams, Bernice Johnson, all of Birmingham, Linda Johnson Patterson, Atlanta, Ga.; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a devoted friend, John Henry Ambrose, devoted nephew, Maurice Davis; a host of nephews, nieces and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ira and Hattie Johnson; a sister, Margie Mae Portis; five brothers, Richard (Tat) Davis, Willie B. Johnson, David Johnson, Clyde Jimmy Johnson and Alphonso Johnson.
The service was July 6 at 2 p.m. at Little Rock Baptist Church with Rev. Tommie Lee Chapman, pastor, officiating. Burial was in the Little Rock Baptist Church Cemetery.
