Rosie Lee Montgomery, 70, of Gainestown died June 28, 2013 at Mobile Infirmary.

She was born March 8, 1943 to the late King David Sr. and Charity Bell Jackson. She was a member of Rocky Mountain Baptist Church in Barlow Bend where she was a faithful member until her health failed. She was a member of L.D. Williams Pride No. 730 of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include six children, Elvin (Ethel) Whittaker Jr., Iola Leggett, Charity (Wallace) Pickens, Earl (Wynona) Whittaker, Rosie (Fred) Hunt, all of Gainestown, Eugene (Jamie) Whittaker, Pensacola, Fla.; mother-in-law, Bertha Whittaker, Gainestown; five brothers, King David (Lucy) Jackson Jr., Willie Earl (Ethel) Jackson, Gainestown, Leroy (Tianna) Jackson, Choctaw Bluff, Clay (Shirley) Jackson, Mobile, Albert Jackson, California; eight sisters, Justine (James) Clarke, Claudia Rocker, Bernice (John) Peoples, all of Barlow Bend, Fannie (Michael) White, Gainestown, Ella Mae McCaster, Jackson Healthcare Facility; eight sisters-in-law, Ida Bell Washington, Carrie (Mack) Washington, Gainestown, Evvie Whittaker, Birmingham, Maureen Washington, Rosie Lee Mitchell, all of Mobile, Mary Alice Fox, Bessie McClain, both of Gainestown, Sophie (Elvin) Fox, Choctaw Bluff; six brothers-in-law, Robert Bell, Jackson, Robert (Gwendolyn) Whittaker, Theodore, lester Whittaker, Birmingham, Bobby Whittaker, Gainestown, Frankie (Nancy) Whittaker, Dwight Whittaker, Cincinnati, Ohio; one aunt, Juanita Dees, Mobile; friends, Bernice Hunt, Mattie Pearl Taylor, Ms. Callie Morrisette; 23 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; a host of nephews, nieces and other friends and relatives.

She was married to Elvin Whittaker Sr. who preceded her in death. To this union six children were born. She later married Aaron Montgomery who also preceded her in death. To this union, one child, Aaron Jerome Montgomery was born and preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were three sisters, Dorothy Jackson, Mary J. Bell, Joann Pettway; one grandchild, Shana Telese Whittaker.

The service was July 3 at Rocky Mountain Baptist Church with Rev. King David Jackson Jr., pastor, officiating. Burial was in the Union Chapel Cemetery in Barlow Bend,
