Survivors include a devoted, loving husband, David J. Scott, Thomasville; three sons, Gregory (Rachel) Chaney, Lawton, OK, David Jr. (Tonisha) Scott, Selma, Ter’Shune (Dawn) Scott, Birmingham; one daughter, Brooklyon Scott, Thomasville; eight grandchildren; siblings, Lucille Chess, Los Angeles, CA, Albert (Mary) Chaney, Peoria, Ill., Grover S. Chaney, Los Angeles, CA, Bertha ( Johnny) Rodgers, York, Paul (Mary) Chaney, Macon, GA., other numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends who loved her dearly and she will truly be missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her parents, the late William Steve and Ora Dee Chaney, other siblings, Larry William, Billie G., Richard L. and Johnny L. Chaney.
The service will be Saturday, July 6 at 11 a.m. at the Eastern Star Baptist Church in the Grant City Community of York with Rev. Charles H. Delaine, pastor, to deliver the eulogy. Mrs. Scott will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral time. Burial will be in the Mt. Herman Cemetery in York. After the committal service, the family will receive friends for repast in the fellowship hall of Eastern Star. Visitation for the family and friends will be Friday, July 5 from 4 until 7 p.m. at the Weatherly Chapel. On Saturday morning at 10:40 a.m. the processional will leave the residence of her sister, Bertha Chaney Rodgers located at 104 Moore Avenue, York.
