Robert Lanier Ingram age 77 a retired postmaster of Thomasville, died July 7, 2013 his residence.

He was born June 17, 1936. He was a member of the Bashi United Methodist Church, a veteran of the US Marine Corps, Past Master of Oliver Lodge # 334 F&AM, Past President of the Thomasville Rotary Club and Past President of The Alabama Chapter of The National Association of Postmasters.

Bob, known to his grandchildren as “B-Bob” struck everyone who met him with his kindness, wisdom, and gentle strength. His great loves were Rosemary, his wife of 54 years, family and friends, his family land, his cows, and making sure that everyone around him knew that they were loved.

Survivors include his wife, Rosemary Ramsey Ingram, Tuscaloosa: son, Robert Lanier (Molly) Ingram, Jr., Tuscaloosa; daughter, Cindy Ingram Cade, Birmingham; nine grandchildren, Rob Pope, Clint Pope, Cody Pope, Ingram Cade, Mary Wesley Cade, Madeline Ingram, Lanier Ingram, Mac Goodwin, Libby Goodwin; three great-grandchildren, Natalie Pope, Summer Pope, Hunter Pope.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Ira Ingram and Lottie Belle Harrison Ingram, sister, Joan Ingram, and daughter, Angela Ingram Pope.

A memorial service was held at Bashi United Methodist Church Wednesday, July 10 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Brooks Etheridge officiating.

Memorials may be made to the Bashi United Methodist Church Building Fund.
