Gaines S. Reynolds, age 80, died July 8, 2013.
He was born Aug. 2, 1932 in Waynesboro, Miss. He was a resident of Dauphin Island. He enjoyed the sights and sounds of the island, oil painting, fishing and meeting and talking with people. He was a former resident of Jackson, a United States Army veteran and a retired maintenance mechanic / vibration analyst for Boise Paper in Jackson. He was a member of the Dauphin Island Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Eva May Reynolds, Dauphin Island; Angie and Gene Reynolds, Jackson; Ali Reynolds, Mobile; Aaron, Angie, Alyssa and Ava Allday, Athens; sister, Mary Alice Buchanan, So So, Miss.; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Reynolds, Nollie Reynolds and Sylvia Reynolds; a host of nieces and nephews and a special friend and caregiver, Ginny Hensell.
He was preceded in death by his parents Fannie B. and Homer Reynolds, and four brothers, Johnny Reynolds, B.O. “Pete” Reynolds, Mart Homer Reynolds and Sheldon Reynolds.
The service was at the Dauphin Island Baptist Church Friday, July 12, with Pastor Chris Schansberg officiating. Burial was at Trinity Memorial Gardens in Jackson.
