Ted Hooks, 64, of Chatom died Aug. 4, 2013.

He was born March 18, 1949. He was a native of Mississippi. He was a member of the Chatom Baptist Church. He loved fishing, woodwork, working with children in baseball and softball and was an avid University of Alabama Football fan. He was a retired accountant.

Survivors include his wife Deneice R. Hooks, Chatom; one daughter, Deborah Leigh (Todd) Dixon, Chatom; his mother, Tinsel Hooks, Newton, MS; numerous other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Graydon Melvin Hooks.

The service was Aug. 6 at Chatom Baptist Church at 3 p.m. with Dr. Jerry Roberson officiating. Burial was in the Laton Hill Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were Casey Williams, Tyler Copeland, Lane Williams, Josh Jacobs, Cody Williams, Ryan Williams and Payton Deese.
