James “Jim” E. Etheredge, 92, of Sweet Water died Aug. 20, 2013 at Jeff Anderson Regional Hospital in Meridian, MS.
He was by vocation a highway engineer and a Baptist minister for about 40 years. He loved the outdoor life and gospel singing. He served several rural churches as pastor.
Survivors include four sons, Jerry (Floyce) Dunn, Bruce (Wanda) Etheredge, Ted (Janet) Etheredge, Sweet Water, Danny (Judy) Etheredge, Nanafalia; six grandsons; two granddaughters; six great-grandsons and three great-granddaughters, numerous nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Margie Evelyn Etheredge.
The service was Aug. 23 at 11 a.m. at Hoboken Baptist Church with Bros. Larry Cox, Butch Starks, Scotty Fulcher and Leon Parnell officiating. Burial was at Hoboken Baptist Church Cemetery in Sweet Water.
Active pallbearers were Clifford Huggins, Larry Jordan, Mike Nelson, Stanley Turks, Joe Norris, Will Norris, Brad Smith and Mitchel Bayles.
Honorary pallbearers were all of his grandsons and Leldon Loftin, Winfred Taylor, John Ott and Dr. T.B. Darji.
