Martha Ann Knight Byrd, 72, of West Bend died Sept. 8, 2013 at Jackson Medical Center.

She was born Aug. 29, 1941. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. She had worked as a bookkeeper for Village Pharmacy in Coffeeville. She was very family and community oriented and was known for her love of cooking.

Survivors include her husband, James T. “Ducky” Byrd, West Bend; children, Jerry (Jennifer) James, Jackson, Renee (Neal) Bishop, Spanish Fort, Tommy Byrd, Deborah (Jay) Eubanks, all of Mobile; one sister, Mary Evelyn (Jim) Faircloth, Jacksonville, FL; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Tuesday, Sept. 10 from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. service at Lathan Funeral Home in Jackson with Bros. Warren Shewmake and Butch Starks officiating. Burial will be in the West Bend Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Neal Bishop, John Bishop, Lloyd Bishop, Jay Eubanks, Derek James and Phillip James.

Honorary pallbearers will be Willie Parden, Lloyd Orso, Billy Robinson, Joe Stringer, Melvin York, Bruce Mathers, Jimmy Counselman, Jerry Parden and many other friends and family members.
