James Willard Bayles Sr., 84, of Jackson died Aug. 31, 2013 at his residence.
He was born Dec. 31, 1928. He was a member Mt. Gilead Baptist Church of Walker Springs. He was veteran of the Korean Conflict having served in the United States Army. He had formerly worked as a barber at B&B Barber Shop prior to going to work as an electrician and the foreman at Vanity Fair Mills. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Doris W. Bayles, Jackson; one son, James W. (Brenda) Bayles Jr., Jackson; two daughters, Janelle (Wayne) Brown, Jackson, Patricia McKee, Leroy; two brothers, Alred (Mary) Bayles, Saraland, Jimmy Earl (Francis) Bayles, Monroeville; one sister, Bernice Hicks, Grove Hill; eight grandchildren, Melanie Massey, Debra Outlaw, Jennifer Huie, Ashley McKee, Heather Gannon, Michael Boyles, Ryan Bayles and Cody Bayles; 19 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Alma Mae Bayles; two brothers, Curtis Bayles and Marvin Bayles; a sister, Mary Skipper.
The service was Sept. 3 at 12 p.m. at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church in Walker Springs. Burial was in the Mt. Gilead Baptist Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Michael Bayles, Ryan Bayles, Cody Bayles, Ashley McKee, Chris Outlaw and Jason Massey.
