She was a member of St. James A.M.E. Church in Choctaw Bluff where she served on the Usher Board before her health failed.
Survivors include three devoted daughters, Vanessa Black, Choctaw Bluff, Tonya (Stanley) Conner, Montgomery, Melody (Roy) Gibby, Conyers, Ga.; two sisters, Brenda Mott, Choctaw Bluff, Lille (Steve) Smith, Walker Springs; one aunt, Mary Lee Bryant, Walker Springs; and 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ruben Black; son, Glenn Black; parents, Rutha and Roosevelt Mott; brother, Roosevelt Black Jr.; and sister, Mildred Moore.
The service was Sept. 21 at 11 a.m. at St. James A.M.E. Church with the Rev. Clausell Boykin, pastor, as officiating minister. Burial was in the St. James A.M.E. Church Cemetery.
