William Kenneth Spinks, 64, of Thomasville died Oct. 5, 2013 at UAB Hospital.
He was born April 15, 1949 in Selma. He was a member and trustee of the Thomasville United Methodist Church. He was the ordinance officer for the City of Thomasville, a lifetime member of the Thomasville Volunteer Fire Department, past president of the Thomasville Chamber of Commerce and served as an auxiliary police officer. He was the former owner of T&S Auto Parts and Ken Spinks Appliance Company and former manager of Sears.
Survivors include his wife, Lynn K. Spinks, Thomasville; one son, William Linwood (Vera) Spinks, Tuscaloosa; one daughter, Ellen Spinks ( John) Gates, Thomasville; two sisters, Linda Vice, Thomasville, Betty Jennings, Milledgeville, GA; two step-brothers, Billy Rambicure, Lexington, KY, Greg Rambicure, Indianapolis, IN; two step-sisters, Peggy Rambicure, Susan Miller, both of Lexington, KY; four grandchildren, Adien Spinks, Kylie Spinks, Mary Kellen Gates, Meg Gates.
The service was Oct. 8 at 2 p.m. at the Thomasville United Methodist Church with Rev. George Sedberry officiating. Burial was in the Choctaw Corner Cemetery in Thomasville.
Active pallbearers were John Nichols, Jesse Harvell, Beau Gunter, Will Jennings, Jeremy Vice and Phil Myers.
Honorary pallbearers were members of the Thomasville Volunteer Fire Department.
