Carl Wilhelm Carlson Jr., 96, of Fairhope died Oct. 19, 2013 at his residence.
He was born Oct. 30, 1916 in Fulton. He was a member of the Midway Baptist Church. He was a United States Army veteran. He was a retired diesel mechanic with McMillan Bloedel Corp. He was a long time resident of Thomasville.
Survivors include his son, George C. (Sybil) Carlson, Fairhope; a sister, Ann Gaines, Salem, Ill.; four grandsons; five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 73 years, Marie Megginson Carlson; a daughter, Rose Marie Carlson; his parents, Carl W. Carlson Sr., Eleanor Lindsey Carlson, three brothers, Willard “Bill” Carlson, Rudolph Carlson, Lavoid Carlson and a sister, Dorothy C. Davis.
A graveside service was Oct. 21 at 2 p.m. in the Choctaw Corner Cemetery with Chuck Lenoir and Kathy Counsel officiating.
