Elizabeth Dillard Blakeney, 93, of Thomasville died Nov. 1, 2013 at her residence.
She was born Aug. 27, 1920 in Florence, Ala. She was an active member of the Pineview Baptist Church and a Sunday School Teacher, a piano and organ player for 44 years. She was a member of the WMU for over 50 years. She was a member of the Worth While Club, the Eastern Star Ladies Auxiliary and Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary. She was a retired school teacher of 58 years in Clarke, Marengo and Choctaw Counties.
Survivors include two sons, Earl Parrish Jr., Fhia Lung Wong; one daughter, Cleopatra Uriarte Blakeney, former daughter-in-law, Donna Andrews Parham; six grandchildren, James Blake Thompson, Austin Jeffrey Parrish, Katie Elizabeth Parrish, Addison Lynn Parrish, David Randy Blakeney, William Harrell Blakeney; five great-grandchildren and three nephews, Bill Blakeney, Randy Blakeney and Blakeney Rogers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harrell Blakeney; a daughter, Eula Jenkins Thompson; a granddaughter, Paula Beth Thompson and her parents, Charles and Elsie Duckett Dillard.
The service was Nov. 5 at 2 p.m. at the Pineview Baptist Church with Rev. Blake Thompson officiating. Burial was in the Choctaw Corner Cemetery in Thomasville.
Active pallbearers were Austin Parrish, Mike Walker, Neal McConnell, Wendell Sheffield, Al Agee and Marshall Parten.
Honorary pallbearers were Earl Parrish, Paul Thompson, Morris Knight, Scott Smyly, Anthony Debusk and members of the men’s Sunday School Class at Pineview Baptist Church.
