Richard Kevin “Richie” Cumlander, 45, of Grove Hill died Nov. 5, 2013 after a valiant fight with pancreatic cancer.
He loved and adored his wife and two children. He was a friend to every one he met. He was a 1986 graduate of Clarke County High School. He was a former employee of ThyssenKrupp where he worked in mechanical maintenance. He was an avid Auburn fan.
Survivors include his loving wife, Debbie Cumlander, Grove Hill; his 10-year-old son, Tyeson Lane Cumlander, Grove Hill; his 12-year-old daughter, Shelby Alana Cumlander, Grove Hill; his mother, Julia Cumlander, Grove Hill; two brothers, Ron (Libby) Cumlander, Mobile, David Cumlander, Grove Hill and the following nieces and nephew: Katie C. (Jonathan) Braswell, Kyle Cumlander and Ally Cumlander.
He was preceded in death by his father, Wayne Cumlander and his grandparents, Sidney Bynum Cumlander, Minnie Lou Cumlander, David Henson and Leta Spurlin.
The service was Nov. 9 at 2 p.m. at Lathan Funeral Home Chapel in Jackson with Revs. Alvin Kolb and Billy Cardwell officiating. Burial was in the Allen Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Dewayne Huggins, Shawn Copeland, Shannon Finney, TBob Andrews, Steve Kelley and Junior Kelley.
Honorary pallbearers were the Clarke County High School Class of 1986.
