Houston Loper, 90, of Camden died Jan. 18, 2014.
He was born Jan. 30, 1917. He was a former resident of Jackson. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Jackson. He had retired as an electrician from Olin Chemical.
Survivors include two sons, Ricky Loper, Camden, Carl Loper, Milledgeville, Ga.; one daughter, Janice Odom, Gulf Shores; one brother, Levon Loper, Laton Hill; two sisters, Beatrice Lee, Eight Mile, Alma Jean Pope, Nashville, Tenn.; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 71 years, Fannie Jane Loper; two sisters, one brother and one granddaughter.
The service will be Tuesday, Jan. 21 at 11 a.m. at Lathan Funeral Home with Bro. Bob Webber officiating. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Eric Postle, David Holt, Tommy Willingham, Jeffery Miller, Charlie Williams and Bradley Miller.
