Johnnie C. Knight, 93, of Thomasville died Jan. 24, 2014 at Thomasville Health Care & Rehabilitation Center.
He was a member of the Thomasville Church of God. He was a World War II Veteran. He was a retired millwright from MacMillan-Bloedel Inc.
Survivors include two daughters, Peggy Knight Amos, Gale (Norman) Knight Kelley, Thomasville; one brother, S.M. Knight, Calhoun, Tenn.; three sisters, Prunice Todd, Hilda Knight, Thomasville, Olene Hallman, Bay Minette; four grandchildren, Cliff (Tracy) Amos, Thomasville, Rusty (Malissia) Norris, Seale, Brian Norris, Salem, Davis (Michelle) Amos, Brody Amos, both of Moyock, N.C.; step-granddaughter, Kim (Gary) Surber, Sweeny, Texas; four great-grandchildren, Haley Amos, Thomasville, Anna Norris, Seale, Sydney Norris, Salem; two step-great-grandchildren, Troy Surber and Emily Surber, Sweeny, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Einnan Knight and a son-in-law, Bob Amos.
The service was Jan. 26 at 2 p.m. at O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home with Joe McKinley, Revs. Bill Flynn and Josh Gill officiating. Burial was in the Independence Cemetery in Sunny South.
Active pallbearers were Cliff Amos, Rusty Norris, Brian Norris, Godfrey Vick, Morris Knight and Bruce Phillips.
Honorary pallbearers were members of the VFW Post 5106 of Thomasville.
