James Floyd Atchison, 70, of Jackson died Feb. 3, 2014.
He was born Oct. 3, 1943. He was a native of Salitpa. He grew up attending River Hill Baptist Church and was currently attending First Assembly of God in Jackson. He was a United States Army Veteran. He was retired from Boise after 40 plus years. He was a very hardworking man who loved football, hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Carol Roberts Atchison, Jackson; one son, Brett Atchison (Shay), Wetumpka; one daughter, Stacy Atchison, Jackson; brothers, Roy Atchison, Robert “Bobby” Anderson, Ronnie Atchison, Fred Atchison, David Atchison; sisters, Florence Marie Faircloth, Nancy Townsend; grandchildren, Hope Atchison, Jake Atchison.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Clois and Willie Ree Mauldin Atchison; brothers, Charles Raymond Atchison, Wayne Atchison and Mike Atchison.
The service will be Thursday, Feb. 6 at 10 a.m. at the First Assembly of God with Pastor E.C. Russell officiating. Burial will be in the River Hill Baptist Cemetery in Salitpa.
Active pallbearers will be Jerry Anderson, Fred Atchison, Roy Atchison, Ronnie Atchison, David Atchison, Bobby Atchison, Danny Wynne and Len Roberts.
Honorary pallbearers will be Frank Harwell, Chris Harwell, Jon Harwell, Harold White, Jim White, Jason White, Mark Atchison, Chip Atchison, Robby Atchison Jr., Ron Atchison Jr., Chad Atchison, Joe Fleming, Matthew Bullock, Keith Townsend, Scott Townsend and Byron Faircloth.
