Charles Austin Tucker, 83, of Sweet Water died Jan. 18, 2014 at Rush Foundation Hospital.
He was born June 20, 1930 in Campground, Ala. He was a supervisor with Borden Chemical Company. He was a member of the Campground United Methodist Church where he served as treasurer for two years. He was the founder of the church trustee board. He was a United States Army Veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Juanita Tucker, Sweet Water; son, Buddy (Rachel) Tucker, Thomasville; daughters, Wanda (Henry) Morgan, Sweet Water, Myrtle Tucker, Big Point, Miss.; brother, James (Peggy) Tucker, Linden; two sisters, Myrtle Brooks Fields, Sweet Water, Nell (Don) Barkley, Linden; sister-in-law, Grace Tucker, Demopolis; nine grandchildren; 20 greatgrandchildren; a host of step grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Jefferson Tucker and Willie Mae Ward Tucker; five brothers, and three sisters.
The service was Jan. 22 at 11 a.m. at the Campground United Methodist Church with Revs. Lee Roy Shaw and Josh Gill officiating. Burial was in the Campground United Methodist Church Cemetery in Sweet Water.
Active pallbearers were Dale Morgan, Damien Morgan, Clifton Tucker, Wayne Tucker, Michael Williams and Patrick Ducote.
Honorary pallbearer was Billy Rentz.
