Deidra Herring, 28, of Montgomery died Feb. 20, 2014.

She was born Feb. 10, 1986. She graduated from Leroy High School in May 2005 and was a member of the Leroy High School Marching Bruins. A member of the Washington County American Red Cross Chapter for Youth, she served as the chapter’s president for two years. She was also a member of the Girl Scouts, as well as a member of River’s Edge Church in Montgomery. She attended South University and achieved excellence being named to the Dean’s List.

Survivors include her mother, Ada Herring; sisters, Pauline (Richard) Williams, Phelitha Sashington, Shatasha Armstead; brothers, Chuckie Herring, Andra Herring; nephews, Karteles Turner, Dustin Herring, Ashton Gipson; loving and devoted godparents, Rev. and Sis. Moore; best friend, Joseph Moore; and a host of loving friends.

Preceding her in death was her loving father, A.L. Herring.

The service was Feb. 28, at 11 a.m. at Union Chapel Baptist Church in Barlow Bend. Rev. Tommie Moore, pastor, will be officiating minister. Burial was in the Mt. Bethel Cemetery in Frankville. Final life celebration has been entrusted to Jackson Memorial Funeral Home in Jackson.
