Johnnie Louise Kelly, 92, of Jackson died March 12, 2014 at her residence.

She was born Dec. 11, 1921. She was a member of the Ebenezer United Methodist Church where she had served on several committees and was secretary and treasurer for 50 years.

Survivors include a sister, Alice “Ginger” (Edward “Buster”) Reeves, Leroy; sister-in-law Eva Wheat, Wagarville; a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Carrie Lee Wheat Sr., and Annie Rebecca Walker Wheat, her husband, James Aubrey Kelly, sisters, Annie Francis Harris and Flossie Chastain; brothers, Carrie Wheat Jr., Marvin Wheat, George Wheat, James Wheat and Charles Wheat.

The service was March 15 at 3 p.m. at the Ebenezer United Methodist Church with Revs. George Weaver and Rodney Smith officiating. Burial was in the Ebenezer United Methodist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Ebenezer United Methodist Church, 102 Garrie Wheat Road, Wagarville, AL 36585 or the charity of your choice.

Active pallbearers were Garrie Wheat III, Larry Wheat, Eugene Wheat, Jim Wheat, Scottie Chastain, Lamar Reeves.

Honorary pallbearers were Emory Mosley, Jim Callen, Glen Griffith, Buddy Wheat, JD McCulley, Britton Kelly and Jimmy Kelly.
