Marcus Dwyane Roper was a native and resident of Toddtown. Mr. Roper departed this life on Sunday, April 13, 2014 at his residence. Born on Dec. 6, 1980 to George Williams and the late Reba Roper Williams, he was 33 years of age. He was a member of the Clarke County High School in Grove Hill, Class of 1999. He served in the United States Air Force in operation resource management and was a member of the Pine Chapel No. 2 Baptist Church of Toddtown.

Mr. Roper is survived by his father, George Williams of Toddtown; one sister, Avis Rhonda (Bobby) Carter of Mobile; four aunts, Beatrice (Barry) Hurd of Jackson and Roberta Creighton, Gloria Ann (Willie) Smiley and Thelma (Johnny) Henry, all of Toddtown; eight uncles, James (Betty) Williams of Wagarville, Arnold Williams of Jackson, Jimmy Williams of Pittsburgh, Pa., L.C. (Gloria) Roper, John Henry Roper, Hubert (Marjorie) Roper, Levan (Charlie) Roper and Tommy Roper, all of Toddtown; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were his grandparents, West and Dennie Nell Roper and James Sr. and Willidean Williams.

Funeral services will be Saturday, April 19, with viewing from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour at 11, at Pine Chapel No. 2 Baptist Church with the Rev. Allen Barnes, pastor, as officiating minister. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with military honors. Final life celebration has been entrusted to Jackson Memorial Funeral Home in Jackson.
