Helen Gray Burge, 84, of Jackson died Aug. 20, 2014 at her residence.

She was born Jan. 18, 1930 in Sunny South. She was a member of Uniontown Baptist Church. She was a retired garment inspector of Jackson.

Survivors include two sons, Melvin (Ann) Burge, Selma, Ted (Susan) Burge, Greensboro; a daughter, Judy (Russell) Stephens, Jackson; two brothers, Robert Milton Sims, Pine Hill, William Cecil Sims, Thomasville; a sister, Una Rae Sims Hill, Pine Hill; eight grandchildren, Elisha (Pearson) Rogers, Ellen (Jimbo) Miller, Jeremy (Carol Beth) Burge, Lynzie (Brian) Davis, Teri (Warren) Walton, Justin Burge, Josh Stephens, Emily (Matt) Drinkard; 11 great-grandchildren, Clayton Rogers, Cannon Rogers, Addison Miller, Auden Davis, Burke Davis, Evie Leigh Walton, Henry Walton, Caleb Walton, Autum Tillary, Eli Burge, and Battle Burge.

The service was Aug. 23 at 3:30 p.m. at Uniontown Baptist Church with Revs. Ben Stubblefield and Brian Jemison officiating. Burial was in the Rosemont Cemetery in Uniontown.

Active pallbearers were Jeremy Burge, Justin Burge, Pearson Rogers, Jimbo Miller, Brian Davis and Warren Walton.

Honorary pallbearers were Josh Stephens, Matt Drinkard, Huett Brunson, Walton Drake and Buck Shand.
