Marschena Howze Pugh, 70, a native of Winn and a resident of Grove Hill was born Nov. 14, 1943 to the late Marvoline Williams Howze and the late A.G. Johnson. She departed this life Aug. 12, 2014 at Mobile Infirmary Medical Center. She united with Bethlehem Baptist Church of Winn at an early age. She retired as a seamstress at Vanity Fair Mills in Jackson.

Survivors include her husband, Charlie Pugh of Grove Hill; a daughter, Adrienne Renee Rivers and granddaughter, Alexis Nicole Rivers, both of Eight Mile; six sisters, Ethel Mae Morrissette of Winn, Rosa Mae (Marvin) Robinson of Jackson, Annie Doris (Dr. David) Franklin of Plymouth, N.C., Mary Ellen Ellis of Bowie, Maryland, Myra (Johnnie) Brown of Mobile, and Joneen Morris of Houston, Texas; six brothers, Wilmer James Howze and Nelson (Lanese) Johnson, both of Mobile, Willie (Bettye) Johnson of Montgomery, Agee (Helen) Johnson Jr., Clifford (Lela) Johnson, both of Winn and Robert Lee (Debra) Johnson, Jackson; a devoted cousin, Jessie Pearl Roper of Eight Mile.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Howze.

The service was Aug. 20 at 11 a.m. at AOH Church of God in Winn with Elder James Richardson, pastor, Bishop Theodore Law, eulogist, officiating.
