VisiWillie Yvoone “Billie” Batley Jones, 89, of Jackson passed away April 16, 2016.

She was born Oct. 15, 1926 to William Charles Batley and Eupaulena Loucinda Dane Batley. She was known as a hard-working lady, she was employed as a mail carrier and at Vanity Fair and owned a store. She enjoyed the company of numerous friends and spent time gardening, raising chickens, hunting and loved feeding and watching birds. She loved flowers, but most of all, she loved her entire family, especially her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughter, Jenny Lou (Glenn) Jones McDonald; siblings, Clyde Kimbrough Batley, Mary Lou Batley Jones; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James Ollis Jones; children, William Ollis “Sandy” Jones, James Waldron “Dooley” Jones, Gloria Annette Jones, Martha Loraine “Marty” Jones; siblings, William Coates Batley, Elma Eugenia Batley Powell, Elisabeth Loreane Walker, Rosalie Batley McIntyre and grandchildren, Mickey Charles and Nancy Louise Fields.

Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 19 and the service at 3:30 p.m. at Lathan Funeral Home in Jackson with Bros. Jim O’Neal, Wayne Jones and John David Stewart officiating. Interment will follow at Bethel Cemetery.
