Rev. Ray Finney, 73, of St. Stephens passed from this life June 18, 2016 at his residence.

He was born Sept. 23, 1942 in Grove Hill to Albert and Minnie Lou Finney. He was an Assembly of God minister for 41 years and was a retired construction worker.

Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Maudie Finney, St. Stephens; two sons, Michael (Angie) Finney, Bigbee, Ian (Michele) Finney, Mobile; daughter, Elizabeth (Mikey) Havard, Lucedale, Miss.; four brothers, Sam Finney, Whatley, Lem Finney, Walker Springs, Dan Finney, Reform, Van Finney, Jackson; two sisters, Nora Finney, Jackson, Betty Walker, Grove Hill; eight grandchildren, Taylor Finney, Melodee Havard, Karissa Havard, Thomas Havard, Zachary Finney, Justus Havard, Joshua Finney, Addison Finney.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Minnie Lou Finney, his father, Albert Finney, his daughter, Melody K. Finney, two brothers, Mamon Finney, Shields Finney, infant brothers, sister, Alice Mae Harrell.

Visitation will be Tuesday, June 21 from 12:30 p.m. until the 2 p.m. service at the Midway Assembly of God Church in St. Stephens with Revs. Lamar Chapman, Allen Carpenter, Mike Havard and Jason Carpenter  officiating. Interment will be at Midway Methodist Church Cemetery in St. Stephens.

Active pallbearers will be Riley Anderson, John Finney, Mitch Finney, Larry Wheat, Terry Nelson, Rev. Tom Brown, Tanner Singleton and Shields Finney Jr.

Honorary pallbearers will be Rev. Finney’s brother-in-law’s, grandsons and a special friend, Bill Jones.

Freeman Funeral Home Inc. of Waynesboro, Miss. will direct.
