Sidney (Brother) Love Jr., 79, traded this life for eternity on July 12, 2016 at Providence Hospital in Mobile.

He was born March 1, 1937 to the late Sidney Love Sr. and Mattie Morrissette Love in Grove Hill. He joined the Orange Hill Missionary Baptist Church at an early age.

He was well known in the community as a carpenter and a mechanic; two activities he enjoyed until his health failed. He also served ten years in the United States Army including the Vietnam War and Korean Conflict. He was married for over 30 years to the late Voncile Taite Love.

Sidney leaves to cherish his memory three devoted daughters, Wedia Love, Edrice (Samuel) Davidson, Marcia (McKinley) Foreman, all of Grove Hill; two sisters, Gladys McBride, Grove Hill, Bessie Washington, East Orange, New Jersey; one loving granddaughter, Ashley (Sweet Pea) Love, Grove Hill; one brother-in-law, Thomas (Mary) Taite, Grove Hill; two sisters-in-law, Lillie (Wilbur) Moultrie, Grove Hill, Floretta Dickinson, Scyrene; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Bernice (Johnnie) Redmond; five brothers, Richard (Laura) Tillis, Willie Love, Fred Love, Collis Love, Johnny Love; four sisters-in-law, Juanita Taite, Ella (Waverly) Baldwin, Minnie (L.V.) Martin, Rena Green; one brother-in-law, Annais Taite and one grandson, Qoy Love Davidson.

The service was July 16 at 2 p.m. at Orange Hill Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Walter Sanders, pastor and Apostle Bruce Frazier as eulogist. Burial was in the Orange Hill Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were nephews and cousins.

Flowerbearers were nieces and cousins.
