Moss Jr.

Edgar Evan Moss Jr., 78, a native of the Good Hope community of Jackson and a resident of McIntosh, departed this life on July 19, 2016 at his home.

He was born on June 1, 1938 to Edgar Evan Sr. and Arnetta Taylor Moss. A member of the Good Hope Baptist Church, he also attended Lang’s Chapel A.M.E. Zion where he sang with the Male Chorus. Mr. Moss retired from Ciba-Geigy as a safety coordinator and later worked at ThyssenKrupp Steel as a security guard. He was also the owner and operator of Moss Washers and Dryers Repair and Sales.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Ernest Moss, Lucious Moss and Ray Allen Moss; two sisters, Mozell Moss and Juanita Moss; and a grandson, LeBarron Adams Moss Jr.

Left to cherish his loving memories are his loving wife, Emma Lee Reed Moss of McIntosh; three sons, LeBarron Moss Sr., Darrell Moss and Wayne Morris of California; nine grandchildren, 11 greatgrandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren; a beloved sister-in-law, Jackie Reed; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were Saturday, July 22, at Lang’s Chapel A.M.E Zion Church in McIntosh. The Rev. Harold Griffin is pastor. Rev. Bobby White was the officiating minister. Interment followed in the Vaughn Cemetery of McIntosh.

Final life celebration was entrusted to Jackson Memorial Funeral Home, 203 East Ross St., Jackson, AL.
