Charles Alfred Pugh, 90, of Thomasville died Aug. 3, 2016 in Pensacola, Fla.

He was born Sept. 5, 1925 in Holtamville. He was a member of the Thomasville Baptist Church. He was a retired millwright with MacMillan Bloedel Inc.

Survivors include two sons, Charles Alfred Pugh Jr., Jackson, Timothy Pugh, Thomasville; two daughters, Loretta Lowery, Jackson, DeLaine Cooper, Camden; three brothers, Ben Pugh, Thomasville, John Pugh, Grove Hill, George Pugh, Grove Hill; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Estelle Pugh, his parents, Elijah C. Pugh, Minnie Lee Floyd Pugh, son-in-law, Marshall Lowery, three brothers, W.T. Pugh, Edward Pugh, James Pugh; two sisters, Mary McDaniels, Estelle Haskew.

The service was Aug. 6 at 2 p.m. at Thomasville Baptist Church with Rev. Ty Parten officiating. Burial was in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Thomasville.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Thomasville Baptist Church.

Active pallbearers were Nicholas Lowery, Kai Qualls, Chuck Pugh, Randy Loper, Chase Pugh and Devin Pitre.

Honorary pallbearers were the Fishers of Men Sunday School Class at Thomasville Baptist Church.
