 Mildred Inez Weatherly, 88, of Thomasville died Aug. 28, 2016 at the Thomasville Health Care and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born March 7, 1928 in Peacock, Ala., to James Matthew Johnson and Alice Virginia Phillips Johnson. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Fulton. She was a former seamstress with Vanity Fair.

Survivors include two sons, Nolan Darrell Weatherly, Donald Ray Weatherly, both of Fulton; four daughters, Patricia Green, Grove Hill, Jean (Wendell) Kirkland, Millry, Wanda (Dewey) Chalk, Grove Hill, Shirley (H.G.) Phillips, Dickinson; brother, Julius Johnson, Grove Hill; two sisters, Marlene Drinkard, Thomasville, Wylene Boney, Butler; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Weatherly; her parents, James Matthew and Alice Virginia Johnson, her brother, James Johnson and her sister, Nell Godwin.

The service was Aug. 30 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Keith Johnson officiating. Burial was in Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in Thomasville.

Active pallbearers were Brent Hill, Greg Phillips, Patrick Weatherly, Ryan Weatherly, Mike Norris and Todd Johnson.

Honorary pallbearers were members of the Lucile and Women’s 2 Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church of Fulton.
