Vernell Pressley Sr. 78, passed away Dec. 23, 2016.

He was born Jan. 3, 1938 to Mrs. Lillian Thomas Pressley. He loved people of all walks of life, making it his mission to be kind and generous to whoever he could and whenever he could. He loved to joke and make people laugh. He was an avid sportsman, outdoorsman and mentor; he will be missed by many.

He leaves to cherish his memories, a devoted wife, Mrs. Daisy Mae Reed Pressley; nine daughters, Cathy Mitchell (Lindsey) Parnell, Beverly Williams, Hazel (Jessie) Gilmore, Kim Adams, Victoria (Sylvester) Koen, Melanie (Clarence) Roberts, Ternetra Pressley, Vernetta (John) Adams and Ashley Bell; three sons, Maurice (Debra) Pressley, Vernell (Waverly) Pressley Sr. and Brandon Adams; one brother, Charles (Cleo) Pressley Sr.; one sister, Margie Ferrell; loving and devoted legacy bearers and carriers, 33 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other devoted family and friends.

He was preceded in death in addition to his mother, two sisters, Celestine Penny Lang and Madie Lang; three brothers, A.W. Thomas and Richard and Robert Ferrell.

 The service was Dec. 28 at McIntosh Church of God Pentecostal with Bishop Bobby Powe, pastor, and Pastor Aaron Williams was the officiating minister. Interment followed in Vaughn Cemetery.
