Dorothy Robinson Callier, 83, of Grove Hill departed this life to be with the Lord on Monday, Dec. 26, 2016 at her residence.

She was born Sept. 21, 1933 to Annie and Johnny Robinson. At an early age, she gave her life to Christ at Wilson Chapel AME Church. Following her marriage, she joined the Orange Hill Missionary Baptist Church where she was a faithful member of the choir, deaconess board, church treasurer, hospitality committee, missionary society, a Sunday school teacher and youth director.

Dot’s home was always the place to be. She left a legacy of love and caring for her family, friends and the community that will be envied by all who knew and admired her.

Cherishing her memory is her daughter, Patricia (Billy) Hines, Elizabeth City, N.C.; two sons, Guyon (Norma) Callier, Mobile, Alvin Dwight Callier, Grove Hill; two sisters-in-law, Clara Callier, Mobile and Lizzie Callier, Cleveland, Ohio; grandchildren, Patrick (Aliya) Hines, Grosse Pointe Park, Mich., Tiffany (Ryan) Dawkins, Mobile, Billicia Hines, Detroit, Mich.; greatgrandchildren, Mya Callier, Elijah Hines, Spencer Hines, Myles Dawkins; and a host of nieces, nephews, godchildren, devoted friends and other relatives.

The service was Dec. 30 at 12 noon at Orange Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Grove Hill. Rev. Walter Sanders, pastor, was the officiating minister. Interment followed in the Orange Hill Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
