Willo Dean Moss Alston, 94, of Toddtown traded time for eternity Saturday, Jan. 28, 2017 at Springhill Memorial Hospital in Mobile.

She was born May 27, 1922 to Haywood Sr. and Agnes Todd Roper. She was a retired insurance agent, having worked for Atlanta Life for many years. A faithful and devoted member of the Pine Chapel No. 2 Baptist Church in Toddtown before her health declined, she had served as president of the Missionary Society, president of the BTU, sung in the Senior Choir and been a member of the Matron Department.

She loved traveling and spending time with her family, reading and going to church.

Left to cherish her memories are three daughters, Margaret Moore, Vonciel Carver and Grace Robinson, all of Pittsburgh; son, Taylor Moss, Toddtown; eight grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Sarah Roper, Toddtown; Mose Moore, Toddtown, Daniel Robinson and Melton Batton, both of Pittsburgh; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Woodrow Moss and James Willie Alston; a son, John Moss; grandson, Jonathan Moss; sisters, Anna Mae Law and Hazel Stewart; brothers, Nathaniel Roper and Rev. Haywood Roper.

Public viewing will be Friday, Feb. 3, from 1 until 4 p.m. at Jackson Memorial Funeral Home at 203 East Ross St. in Jackson.

Another viewing on Saturday, Feb. 4, will be from 1:30 until the 2:30 p.m. home going celebration at Pine Chapel No. 2 Baptist Church, 981 Toddtown Road in Jackson with Rev. Allen Barnes, pastor, as officiating ministers. Interment will follow in the Pine Chapel No. 2 Baptist Church Cemetery.
