Charlie Pugh, 73, of Eight Mile departed this life March 8, 2017 at Providence Hospital in Mobile.

He was a native of Grove Hill. He was born Aug. 29, 1943 to the parentage of the late Blond Pugh and the late Stella Chapman Pugh.

Mr. Pugh was a life-long member of the Winn AOH Church of God in the Winn community of Jackson. He retired as a beam installer with Vanity Fair Mills in Jackson. His passion was quartet singing. He was a former member of the Original Gospelistics Quartet Singers of Grove Hill.

He is survived by his loving and devoted daughter, Adrienne Renee Pugh-Rivers; one granddaughter, Alexis Nicole Rivers, both of Eight Mile; one sister, Mattie (Bishop Jesse) Henry, (Toddtown community) Grove Hill; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marschena Howze Pugh; two brothers, Tom Pugh and Willie Pugh; three sisters, Maggie Mae Chapman, Palace Chapman and Essie Lee Edgar.

Viewing will be Saturday, March 18 from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. service at Winn AOH Church of God, 942 Berry Chapel Road in Jackson with Overseer James Richardson, pastor and eulogist.
