Lebron White Durden, 77, of Monroeville passed away March 21, 2017.

She was born July 26, 1939. She was a loving wife and mother, and family was so precious to her. Even though she suffered tremendous losses throughout her life, she stayed steadfast in her faith and loved the Lord. She will be dearly missed by so many but we will see her again soon. It’s OK sweet Mama to let go and go to sleep, for I will see you in the morning.

Survivors include her husband, William C. Hammond Jr., Monroeville; a daughter, Anissa Durden (Don) Cannon, Birmingham; a sister, Millicent White Hennis, Chickasaw; grandchildren, Joseph Patrick (Casey Jo) Jones, Tuscaloosa, Stefen Brett (Haley) Jones, Birmingham, Casen Hunter Jones, Birmingham, Caitlin Elise Durden, Mexia, Candace Durden (Kyle) fikes, Moundville, Garrett Holden Chandler, Gavin Harris Chandler, both of Birmingham, Brittney Cannon, Hueytown; great-grandchildren, Trever Wilson, Tuscaloosa, Josie Bracknell, Tuscaloosa, Chloe Addison Jones, Hudson Palmer Jones, both of Birmingham, Cooper Jordan Fikes, Sadie Paige Fikes, both of Moundville; and numerous other step-children; step-grandchildren and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Torey Durden (Ricky) Jones; sons, John Wayne Durden Jr., Lee Wilson Durden; grandsons, Tristan Ainsley Jones, Jordan Lee Durden and granddaughter, MarLee Paige Chandler.

A memorial service will be conducted Sunday, April 9 at 2 p.m. at Lathan Funeral Home in Jackson with Rev. Hughie Denton officiating.
