John David Miller, Jr., 83, of Jackson, passed away April 14, 2017 at Springhill Memorial Hospital in Mobile.
He was born May 8, 1933 to John David Miller Sr. and Martha Rogers Miller. He was a graduate of The University of West Alabama, a member of Jackson First United Methodist Church, the American Legion Post 385 and had retired after 33 years as a training technician with Texaco. He had also enjoyed several years of service to the clients of CCARC.
Survivors include his sons, Edward David (Felicia) Miller, Seal Beach, Calif., Claude Embry (Heather) Miller, Jackson; grandchildren, Claude Embry Miller II, Bailey Ayers (Andrew) Harris, Claire Adams Miller; greatgrandchildren, Colton Miller, Gracie Miller, Lucas Harris, Zoe Harris; numerous cousins and friend, Debbi George.
He was preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter, Ashley Miller.
The funeral service was April 18 at 11 a.m. at Lathan Funeral Home in Jackson with Rev. Alan Gantzhorn officiating. Interment followed at Pinecrest Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Butch Catrett, Bud Rogers, Graham Braswell, Bob Stewart, Dick Williams and Embry Miller II.
Honorary pallbearers were George Morton and Kenneth Stewart.
