William Joey Gates, 53, of Coffeeville passed away June 9, 2017 at his residence.

He was born May 29, 1964. He was employed as a diesel mechanic.

Survivors include his mother,  Shelby Gates; wife, Deborah Barnes; daughters, Jessica Champion, Keisha Sellers; sons-in-law, Michael Champion, Sean Sellers; grandchildren, Kendall Bonds, Jaelynn Champion, Madison Champion, Skyler Sellers, Emily Sellers; siblings, Deborah Butler, Ricky Gates, Bruce Gates, Debbie Cumlander; nieces and nephews, Tina Butler, Chad Butler, Kristy Butler, Tara Ready, Brandon Gates, Kortney Gates, Tiffany Powell, Jasmine Gates, Alexus Gates, Lanie Cumlander and Tyson Cumlander.

Visitation will be Monday, June 12 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Lathan Funeral Home. The service will be Tuesday, June 13 at 2 p.m., also at Lathan Funeral Home with Revs. Edward Hinson and Jonathan Hudson officiating. Interment will be in the Choctaw Corner Cemetery in Thomasville.

Active pallbearers will be Joey Barnes, Justin Barnes, Michael Champion, Tyson Cumlander, Brandon Gates, Frank Gates, Jessie Gates, Phillip Hicks and Sean Sellers.
