James Philip Nichols, 82, of Thomasville died June 8, 2017 at Thomasville Health Care and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born Nov. 14, 1934 in Thomasville to Tom Kirby and Madelin Louise Nichols. He was a member of the Thomasville Baptist Church, Thomasville Rotary Club, Thomasville Volunteer Fire Department, Thomasville Jaycees, and served on the Thomasville Academy School Board. Mr. Nichols was a retired machine shop operator.

Survivors include three sons, Keith Nichols, Ken Nichols, and Kevin Nichols; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

A graveside service was June 10 at 10 a.m. in the Choctaw Corner Cemetery with Rev. Ty Parten officiating.

Active pallbearers were Jamie Nichols, Hayden Nichols, Joey Nichols and Justin Haigler.

Honorary pallbearers were members of the Fisher of Men Sunday School Class of Thomasville Baptist Church.
