Thomas Dwaine Chapman, 57, of Ocala, Fla. passed away July 4, 2017 at Legacy House Hospice in Ocala, Fla.

He was born Dec. 11, 1959 to Lovie Chapman and Gust Thrash. He was a native of Toddtown

Early in life he became a member of Pine Chapel No. 2 Baptist Church in Toddtown. Working with his hands was his joy, he could build just about anything. Thomas was also known for writing poems.

Left to cherish his memories are his mother; one brother, Carl Chapman, Toddtown; sister, Marilyn (Richard) Burrell, Toddtown; three stepbrothers, Herman (Mary) Chapman and Overseer Darious (Evette) Chapman, both of St. Stephens, and Samuel (Zieta) Chapman, Slidell, La.; stepsister, Patricia (Elvis) Bolden, St. Stephens; a special friend, Valarie Moore, Ocala; sister-in-law, Mary G. Pugh, Jackson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Gust Thrash; three brothers, including his twin Timothy Chapman, Michael Pugh and Gregory Chapman; and grandmother, Bernice Pugh.

The service was July 8 at Pine Chapel No. 2 Baptist Church in Grove Hill with Rev. Allen Barnes, pastor, and Min. Stephen Henry, Mr. Chapman’s nephew, officiating. Interment followed in the Pine Chapel No. 2 Baptist Church Cemetery.
