Rolanda Dimeke Jackson, 39, a native of Jackson and resident of Mobile, made her earthly transition Sunday, Sept. 10, 2017, at USA Medical Center. She was born Jan. 23, 1978 to Daisy Mae Hill and Robert Jackson.

Rolanda loved spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed music and dancing and also taking pictures. She was a member of the Hillsdale Presbyterian Church.

Left to cherish her memories are her son, Kavonta Powell, Saraland; daughter, Shuwanda Jackson, Chickasaw; aunts, Louida Hopkins, Virginia Jackson, Juanita Hopkins, Linda Leggett, Peggy (Clausell) Preitchett, Deborah (Wendell) Jackson, Cynthia (Darryl) McKever and Edrea (Anthony) Bethea; uncles, W.C. (Carol) Jackson, King David Jackson Jr., K.C. (Pearlie) Jackson and Raleigh Pritchett; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death were her parents; grandparents, Robert and Edna Davis, King David Sr. and Alice Jackson and Nancy Hill; aunts, Shirley Bryant, Marie Pritchett; uncles, Otis Parker, Orrie Jackson, Richard Jackson and Charles Jackson.

Visitation will be Friday, Sept. 15, from 6 until 8 p.m., at Jackson Memorial Funeral Home, 203 East Ross Street in  Jackson. The funeral service will be Saturday, Sept. 16, with viewing from 10 a.m. until the homegoing celebration at 11 a.m., at St. John Baptist Church, 17476 Walker Springs Road in Gainestown with Revs. Clayton Davis as pastor and Mark K. O’Cain, the officiating minister. Interment will follow in the St. John Baptist Church Cemetery.
